I totally agree. It would be very bad if Erie went dark for one year. We just got the fan base back from the Erie Invader one year and done fiasco. The fans would be tougher to bring back if this happened to them twice. If it went dark? The front office has been in the dark well over 2 years now.

Dave Hodas sighting at the office yesterday. I did get a chance to talk to him. He told me that the Freeze will be returning. We talked about other issues that isn't board material at this time. I do not know for sure what league. Hopefully it is still with the AIFA. As with many teams of late, there is a deadline fast approaching for some teams. Maybe by then, I will have better answers to the fans questions.

I don't sense that there's urgency to get things done prior to the deadline. Almost like they want to get out of the AIFA. Here's the kicker though, M&M don't own the contract to the Tullio. So if the Freeze would leave say to the CIFL for the sake of arguement, there's nothing that M&M can do about it. They can't pull a "Baltimore" in Erie.
Needless to say, I'll support the team in the decision that is made.

Sidebar to this (something I found out trying to get more info on the team) All-Star OL Jon Sitter won't be back next year. This is not new information. John had stated at the beginning of the season that this would be his last year in Erie. He had become tired of the happenings in the front office and was just ready to move on with his life. The demands of his job and the amount of time that he was putting into the Freeze was incredible. It left him little time for anything else in his life. He also recently received a job promotion which, now has him working and living in the Pittsburgh Area. We wish John the Best of Luck with the new job and Best Wishes in the future. John is a Good Friend of the Fan Club and did a lot of work in the community. He, and his family were active in the Fan Club and participated in several Fan Club Events. His family was a fixture on the road as well, traveling to most road games on their own to see John play. John is an All Star in everything he does and he will be VERY hard to replace in 2008.

Myspace message from Freeze: Office will be open to the public next week. And, looking at the Times News today, looks like they were mentioned in it. goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070914/SPORTS0509/709140423By:John Dudley A couple of readers e-mailed this week concerned about rumors that the Erie Freeze was shutting down operations. Owner Dave Hodas told the Times-News on Wednesday that the team turned off its phones and closed its downtown offices for the summer to save money, but intends to play in 2008. And you have to wonder, if the Browns had resorted to cost-cutting moves like this a long time ago, maybe they could have afforded to sign a real veteran quarterback to mentor Brady Quinn by now.

I still stand by the argument that if a team goes dark in its community, that's a sign to the league that they no longer exist and that it's time to move on. The quietest time for a front office in terms of season preparation is during the season, not after it.

Side note: If fat ass I mean Dudley is so smart, can he recommend a veteran QB that the browns could of signed?? I've seen none. Translation for turning out the lights to save money: "I tried selling the team more then whats it worth and could not find a sucker to bite"
