Okay, here is the latest update from one of my reliable sources.
Yes, the league is interested in Rochester. But, there is alot of discussion and checks that need to be done first before anything is set in stone. Such as with any new team, all the background checks must be in place. And talks with present teams need to take place about any such move. To my knowledge no one from our league is scheduled to goto a press conference in Rochester. If any games are played they would be concidered exibition games. To my knowledge. No reason to get into an uproar yet.

ah yes, the background checks. Anyone have any idea what they check out? We can rule out finances since teams have folded after just one season due to money issues....

What a udder display of stupidity if this is indeed true.
:::: I will wait on my tirade until something official is announced, although, I tend to believe it is true. ::::

If they automatically get into the playoffs over a team that had to fight through the entire season to earn it. That's the kind of thing that is gonna completely destroy the credibility of this league. Like someone else said...who is getting knocked out of the playoffs because of this? Sorry, I had to interject... this league has credibility? When did this happen? You have to have first, before it can be destroyed. Carry on...

You know...another thing that might not have come up in this discussion is this question. Who is paying the travel expenses and game checks of the team that has to now play an extra game in Rochester. The league? Because you know..this is THEIR brain child. If I'm an AIFA owner and am just gonna get through the season and suddenly now I have to play another game...I'm gonna be really pissed if there's no help from the league. What if it's a team from out west that now has to travel a day or two to get to Rochester? How fair is that game gonna be? Just to recap....the National Indoor Football Championship will be decided on the home turf of a team that has NOT played a single game in the AIFA yet. Absolute crap. The Raiders have the coin... I'm sure they will shoulder most, if not all of the financial burden to get AIFA teams to Rochester to play them.

Rochester's front office situation reads kinda like a soap opera... but the one thing that is unquestionable is the depth of their pocketbooks as long as Bob Barto-whatever is still a part of the group. With him on board, they will probably bring the strongest financials to the table in the entire AIFA.

Which means you all better bend over to whatever they want or they'll find an excuse to quit you guys midseason, too.
One fewer ownership group working to undermine the CIFL...now they need to take advantage of this fact and fix things.

They won't... they will lose New England too, not to mention Flint. Milwaukee should prolly go too. Who else is likely to drop out?
This just means the strongest personality is gone... but they still have the Chicago group's ass to kiss (don't wanna lose the Sears Centre and that market) and DePaul will now assume top-whiner-dog status and want his way, as he should; he's always paid his bills and bailed out Jeff on a number of occasions.
CIFL has very real problems as well, they just don't seem to fall as far when they screw up 'cause they aren't trying to be a nationally televised nation-wide league.
Performance bonds people... if you don't have them, the team should not be participating in your league.

How can any Playoff team play an exhibition game this season? (especially in regards to Erie & Utah, since their names came up) Either they need to play a game that week, or be getting ready to play a game, right?
