4/21 Canton - 2,700
Another pretty average crowd. It didn't seem like that many people were there. It was a nice night and the Seawolves were also playing. I think management should be happy. Even being 1-9, people are still showing up. I think they are finally starting to grow a decent fan base.

Exactly...attendance being what it is with a 1-9 team that's not even close right now (though Canton did a great job of playing down to the level of the Freeze), that's very good. Better than most of the league and most of the other leagues.

I think the reason that attendance hasn't been awful is the fact that almost all of the Freeze's home games have been tightly contested. They have lost by 4 points or less in 3 of the 4 home losses. If the team was getting blown out at every home game, then the attendance numbers would be much worse.

Even with a beautiful night on saturday, people showed up. Great game too. I honestly think if the Freeze took the last 15 rows on both sides and made those 5 dollar seats, I think they'd even have more people coming to the games. I'd rather make $5 on a seat, than nothing. 1000 fans equals 5000 bucks minus costs. Regardless, it's money you wouldn't have otherwise. To me it makes good business sense.

Are the $5 sections always sold out? I always sit in a $15 section, because I figure it's worth the extra $3 to sit that much closer. To me it's not worth $10 to sit in the first 3 rows though.

In a different thread, I said that the Erie/Canton rivalry has not made the level of say OSU/Michigan or Cleveland/Pittsburgh. It doesn't matter what the record of those teams are, it will always be a sell out. So, my question to Freeze fans ... How much of the attendance was due to the fact that it was Canton in town? Would you have drawn that well for Danville?

I don't think it mattered that Canton was in town. Any team would have drawn that crowd.
People didn't even care that Joe was wearing a Canton jersey during the football toss.
Like I said, it was an average crowd. If we would have had like 3200-3500 people there, I would have said it was because of Canton (or the free ticket offer).

Would you have drawn that well for Danville? I'd say about 85% don't even know there's a rivalry and the other 15% make up for it... before the $5 seats were always sold out. Doesn't seem like it that much now. The seats I mentioned don't even come close to being full. Maybe sweeten the pot a bit with a family night package that included some goodies for the kids. Family of four could goto a game for $20. Probably would be cheaper than a seawolves game.

I wonder what the "suites" cost. I'm thinking about getting one for a game next year. Anyone ever sit up there?

I've been up in them during pregame warmups. If it cost a lot, I wouldn't bother. I guess if you had a large amount of people to split up the cost, it would be beneficial. Don't get suite 3 (I think).. right behind the one goal post and there's a net in the window.

I thought a suite might be a good way to get some of the wives to a game. I know my wife doesn't really care to sit in those terrible seats. Plus, we can bring the little kids. I have a 2.5 year old and my nephew is 3. I would never have them sit through a whole game, but in the suite they could play with cars or something if they got bored. My 5 year old is a football addict already, he has no problem making it through a game.

At the game on Saturday, they said the $5 seats were sold out, so I ended up getting the $12 tickets. Honestly, you'd think they'd have a ticket price somewhere between $5 and $12.

I tried to order $5 seats today on ticketmaster but got a "not available" message so I called over to the Tullio box office. The woman I talked to said those tickets aren't released until the day of the game at 10am. She said it's always like that. That sucks for someone like me that's an out of towner trying to get those seats.
