Here is an idea that has been discussed with our rivals in Erie.
Fan club sponsored
Battle of the Dance Teams!
Example: Fan club would sponsor the dance team from Erie to come to the Canton game and vice versa. The girls would get the opportunity to sell their calendars etc to a new crowd and the crowd would love the show.
Would sell out the arena itself! LOL

I think for our Steam Team a trip to Johnstown would be good. One concern i would have is would the opposing teams fans boo them just for spite? Opposing teams expect to be boo'ed but i am not too sure thats what a dance team would expect. If not, then i would be all for that idea......

Gene, it is physically impossible to boo when your mouth is hanging open and the drool is dropping on your nachos. I think it is certainly a possibility that the girls would get booed. However, especially at halftime, the stands empty out, the concessions and restrooms get full. So, if it does happen it wouldn't be so bad. The other aspect of this is that the girls don't get to see other teams perform. It would give them a good measurement of where they stand in regards to their performances. Not to mention deepen the rivalries.

This has been an ongoing topic for 2 years now. I don't see why this wouldn't be feasable. I wouldn't expect boo's. More like wolf whistles and catcalls. A joint routine would work just as well. Would show respect for each team. How ever............a swimsuit pageant would be cool.

Bring em over to the War Memorial. The Lady Hawks and the Express Dance Team can have a Danceoff at Halftime.

Concentrate on quailty football and the fans will come. The gimmicks turn more people off than they bring on board. Make it family oriented... not an event for a 40 year old virgin to attend.

Whats the difference whether its 1 or 2 dance teams at a game? If you saying that 2 teams isnt "family oriented" then by your post hear i would take it that you are against dance teams all together? Our dance teams work hard to entertain the fans and they deserve just as much recognition that they can get. I doubt the "dance off" would attract more people but it would give the other fans in other areas an idea of what goes on in other teams arenas, performance wise. It wouldnt hurt the league at all.

Sheesh, that remark resembles Joe! Seriously, though. We're not talking about a striptease. The dance teams all have routines they do. You always hear the guys from Erie talking about the Chillers and our friends in Reading talking about the Steam Team. Unless you go to their arena, you'll never see them perform. The ladies do a good job and if they are willing to tavel and perform, they should be able to do so. BTW, the XFL was a wrestling gimmick. End of story. Maybe Andrew can get Vince McMahon to buy a franchise in the AIFL?

Honestly, I don't even realize they are there, other than at the start of the game. At halftime, when they perform, I'm too busy hitting the bathroom and getting another beer so I don't miss the real action.
