Before any rumors get flying i am gonna set the record straight.
Due to some recent issues we fans have had in regards to what we can post and discuss we have decided to end our affiliation as the "official league message board" with the AIFA. In a vote between FAB members thus far its 11 votes for, 0 against.
While we have reverted back to just a fan-powered site we will still moderate this board to high standards, however there will be more freedom of expression. We ask you all to be respectful and not bash any members, league officials, teams, players or any of the league operations. That said we'd like your opinions on those things just try to make them in a constructive & respectful way.
In the future, The league will be starting up their own board on their site. We still support them & wish them well in all their future endeavors.

With how the other boards are run it might be fun to go there because you could say whatever you wanted and they wouldn't even notice.

Great move by all of you. This should help free up any conflicts that have happenned in the past. Besides does anyone here really think they will set up a message board before the end of the season? Can we still say "Thugcats"?

Can we still say "Thugcats"? I know they will but if you thought things were tough here, it wont be better there. I can see their board disappearing by years end much like it did in the old AIFL days. Look at the MAHL. They suspend their season midway thru and the board disappears. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree....

Well I'm glad you did it. I must say at least you guys gave it a shot and ran the board as right as you could unlike the NIFL board last year. I am glad you guys did as good as you could and understand the restraints you were under.

I do not think th etraffic is going to be massive as most people either stick to team message boards or this one, that already has an established poster-base. And what does "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" mean? Are you implying that the AIFA is going to go the way of the MAHL?

My reference was made about the new league message board which will eventually be shut down due to negative posting. Imagine all the stuff that woulda been posted and deleted after the SimplyMe fiasco. Bad deals = negative posts on message boards. Then people get more pissed when their posts are deleted. Trust me, been there done that before.

It wont be shut down Gene. The negativity will be handled accordingly. The league has a right to protect its assets and remove potentially negative or detrimental posts. Maybe it did not work here on this site because it was out of scope from the original point of this site.
I respect what this site is designed for and maybe it was a bad idea to be the official message board to begin with. Now you and everyone are free to post what they want (within the guidelines of acceptability).
That being said, the new league message board will be closely monitored. Opinions will be respected, but flagrant smear campaigns will not be tolerated. If people want to discuss what went wrong with the simplyMe deal, so be it, as long as it is kept respectful. The minute it takes a turn to talking about "how the league is stupid..." guess what; it will be locked and or deleted.
Like I said, that does not work here because this was originally created as a safe haven from such politics. A league owned and operated site however, has to operate differently.
