I agree with the travel situation thing 100%. I spoke with one of the coaches and several players and they all said the same thing as far as the travel situation is concerned. IT SUCKS. Players were driving to Danville and then they had to play. They should be made as comfortable as possible if they are going to play especially if you are not staying the night. I do not know how other teams handle their games but things here are not good right now. Reading stayed overnight against us but that was because of the weather. They were not scheduled to stay but things come up. They drove down to tallahasee I believe and got beat so who knows. I do not understand how Erie can sign Cipra one week and then a week later they trade for him. I checked Cantons roster and he was not on it for the Reading game. NOWHERE!!! Now he's somehow a player for them again to force Erie to trade him for Benjamin. Seems kinda shady to me but some things in this business have to be I guess. I will still support the Freeze if they loose the rest or win them all and the championship. They have been in every game except 1 and that was the first one. They easily could be 6-1 right now but instead they are 1-6. Great teams always find a way to get the W. I am sure that management has to be held accountable for some of the losses this season. As for Benjamin asking to be traded. I guess some people can only take so much. He is a good player there is no doubt about that. I hope he comes back next season. I hope some of the current players do not. This seems to be a team that is lacking in talent but more importantly heart. Quality players at this level are hard to come by and it is a shame to see Erie loose one. If he was not playing well then maybe it would be understandable but he seems to be having a fairly decent season. At least we get a kicker out of the deal and Cipra was good when he was with Erie. That's a whole different story that I don't agree with but I am glad he is back. The kicker we had before was terrible. I went on to long. I wish the Freeze palers and coaches the best. Hopefully they can salvage this season and if not make the playoffs at least make it respectable under the circumstances. they are under.

This is kind of off topic, but, Scooter mentioned that Chris Blackshear was a no-show for the Danville game. Has he been in contact with the team? Any reason why he didn't show up?
I hope Benjamin didn't open the flood gates for disgruntled players. That's all they need now is for Blackshear to leave.

I heard he did not show up as well. I do not know what happened there but he apparently is going to play this week. They only took 17 guys down to Danville and were without 5-6 starters so there you go. Add that to the travel situation and that makes for disaster. The players need to WANT to perform well. Roman soldiers were fed like kings and had tramps brought in for them before they went intobattle. They knew many of them were not coming back and yet they fought hard and were taken care of. Our guys are coming back from battle. (I think we can do without the tramps) but the jist is to take care of your warriors and they will want to go to battle for you.

It was the differences with manangement (this case Butthead Belick or however the heck you spell his name) and he went down to Dallas and helped fill in for Troy when he was injured and helped them reach the super bowl. What was the Browns record after getting rid of Kosar in the midddle of the season?
Anyways I was using Kosar for the comparison of me following Kosar and King Bandwagon following RB and switching teams not diffenences with management.

It seems Chris is playing this week and everything was taking care of behind closed doors.

Chris was at practice tonight, so whatever issues there were have been resolved.

I think trying to draw a parallel to the playoff shenanigans from last season is a bit of a stretch...
That story was a great spin on the situation concocted within the Legends organization. It was truth, spun to favor the Legends position.
This article in the Erie paper, written by a third party who has no allegiances one way or the other. (for or against the players or the org.) Benjamin's quotes must be his own, and though I don't personally know the player, can certainly understand his frustrations.
In our league you technically don't even have to be formally released... if your team leaves you off the 25-man retaining roster, the league can declare you a free agent if you wish to sign elsewhere. I've talked to Cip and he said he was told he was released, so that's good enough for me. My assumption would be that the Freeze are just trying to spin the loss of Benjamin to favor their image as best they can, but that was undone by the direct quotes from Benjamin on why he is really leaving Erie.
If the Rep had bothered contacting Cip, I'm sure they would have gotten the same quotes from him...

in aifa discussion i wrote again how we handle our long bus trips...i am not saying it's perfect, just that it works for us and it is also my philosophy on how my players should be cared for...everyone differs

Apparently, Benjamin and the Freeze were not on the same page either. This appears to be a way that both the Legends and the Freeze could save face in difficult situations. The Freeze bring back a fan favorite in Cipra and the Legends get the best defensive player on the Freeze team. Only here, where the fans are more than just fans, does anyone know any differently.

The statement I made on past and future was my opinion. Not the Freezes'. It is rather interesting that Cip's article was on Monday. And granted Ro wanted out. His article was on Thursday. And I know for a FACT, Cip was not on the roster when I attended the Canton/ reading game on March 23rd.
It's all water under the bridge now. But, shady to say the least. And Man The Myth hit the nail on the head with.

Cipra was a fan favorite in Erie? That's news to me. I always though he was a pain in the azz.

All I know is that last season he came the message board and was bad-mouthing the coach in public. Then he gets in to a fight with Dinkins.
