The Legends title defense begins Friday in Johnstown. Last season, the Riverhawks just missed the playoffs, while the Legends advanced to and won the American Bowl.
The two teams split last season with both teams winning in their own arena. The Legends took the first meeting at the Civic Center 62-48. The Riverhawks returned the favor later in the season with an exciting 50-36 win that featured three touchdowns, two of which were defensive, in the final 1:15 of the game.
Johnstown has made a change from last season, though. New head coach Steven Folmar comes to the Riverhawks from Raleigh where he coached the Rebels last year to the AIFL Southern Division championship game. The Johnstown faithful hope he can duplicate that accomplishment with the 'Hawks.
