Legends looking for community support
11/21/06 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Canton Legends If your business has been mistakenly overlooked in the off season and has not been contacted, we apologize. We want to meet and get you involved with a sponsorship package or at least season tickets for strengthening employee/vendor/family relationships.
The 2007 Canton Legends indoor football season is just around the corner beginning February 1.
In order for the Legends to have another successful year, we need to hear from you, or please forward this information to anyone of interest. Our success is directly related to community support. Last year we served the needy at shelters, read to children at elementary schools, donated hundreds of tickets to non profit organizations, marched in community parades, supported dozens of community charities as well as won the national championship. This year, please call 453-8440 to get involved so we can continue to work together and make our community a better place.

I wanted to say something too, but I'm editing myself. 'Interesting' seems to say enough...

I heard something too. But won't comment on it until I get more details.

Sounded to me like they need some people to buy some season tickets & sponsors. Not a good sign only 2 months before the season is scheduled to start.I know of another team thats in a similar predicament too........ At the rate things are going Erie might win the League Championship by default. Congrats Joe......... ;D

What happened to last years sponsors? Did the dog eat the list of sponsors that had phone numbers? Since "Interesting" has been used, I'll use "Confused"

Not really... word was most of the sponsors were for trade-outs only, no real dollars coming in. That's just the word, I really don't know what the Legends balance sheet looked like.
That being said, I'm confident Canton won't go long w/o indoor football, if at all.
I hope they didn't lose the list, but if they need it I can help. I think I memorized the season ticket list, it was only a couple dozen names long. (I'm not counting the corporate season tickets handed out to sponsors.)

Looks like a trip down to North Market Ave. may be in order for Monday.

Man what a blow it would be to the AIF-AEIOU and sometimes L, if its League Champions bite the dust.... Not to mention the Erie/Canton rivalry

I like the erie/canton rivalry and I'll miss it if legends go away. I just don't understand how a team can win a championship but still have trouble getting fans to the games.

You can't get fans to games if you don't play any.
I believe the Legends fully intend to play this season. Unfortunately, the necessary people were not in the office when I went down there, but when I hear something concrete I will fill you in. Until then, plan on Feb 9 and Apr 21 for the renewal of that classic rivalry.
