Joe's board? Last time I remember, we have all put in our part to make this board a success. Just because one person owns the right to a domain name, doesn't mean they own the board... But I digress from that... Here's what I am getting at. You're setting a precedent that members without a team are excused from the FAB and Mod privileges. You can't do it to one person and then pass on the next. Maybe I'm being difficult, but there should be a policy in place and it should be voted on by all the FAB members. Just a thought. Ok then that said lemme ask who is currently an FAB member who doesnt have a team but still has all their priveleges? Currently everything is correct. I'm trying to make a point though. If the Freeze are gone, then that would mean Joe wouldn't be the president, Scott or myself wouldn't be a mod/fab member. That's at least how it should be with the precedent that has been put in place. That's why policies should be put in place if that time ever did come that we won't have a can of worms to deal with.

Not necessarily. I already know in talking with Joe that he would help another team currently active in the league. It would be up to you and Scott as to whether you wanted to go to another team or not. If you want to suggest a policy be made on this topic i would suggest putting it in the FAB board so other FAB members can discuss it. On a side note, if you remember when i was briefly helping the Outlawz, i did remove my name off the FAB in regards to the Express. I only put it back up when i returned........

That would mean we wouldn't have a fanclub. But, it has nothing to do with the boards. We are all fans of the league. Our fanclub is something totally different. Does the AIFA live scoring that Fridge made just for Erie? No. This is league wide representation. When we added new FAB's it was for perspective teams. Made it easier, since they were closer to that team. When we had the original FAB team, we did reports on the other teams. We didn't have mods for each team, or even some. If such a thing would arise(which, I hope doesn't), then like Turf Burn said, we could help other teams.

Also on a side note. I was sorta in the process of making a set of bylaws for these boards(for the FAB). But, someone lost my original for the time being.

Well I never hope I lose my team, because if I did that would probably be the end of the line for me as a FAB member/Moderator. I'm thinking ahead so we don't have to deal with nuts later on

There will always be league rivalries. As a somewhat neutral observer, I really enjoyed the visible progress made by the AIFA this year. I enjoyed quite a few games online when I could.
Other leagues also entertained me, this year, but there were some ties that had perked my interest in the AIFA even though I'm in Lincoln, NE. There will always be hurdles in indoor football, but it's how these situations are handled that are truly remembered. I think good things will happen.
From what I hear, Baltimore will have an AIFA team. If these rumors are true, it will have solid backing. While there are many that still have ties to the Blackbirds, and I do hope that somehow things work out for them, it only makes sense that former Blackbirds may be involved with the new AIFA venture.
Anyway, you guys do a great job from what I've seen on this board so far. Love the info provided.
From experience in different places, I know how difficult it can be to find fair and dedicated mods and keep them. That might be something that you want to consider when deciding whether some of these gentlemen are stripped of mod duties just because they lose their team(temporarily, hopefully).
Again, you guys are doing a great job, but just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

We have our FAB forum & only people with the MOD or higher status have access to it. That why we give FAB members MOD status. Taking it away from Dave & Kevin had nothing to do with their MOD abilities. Plain & simple, they lost their team. If & when a team is placed in Baltimore they will be given preference as to whether they want to be FAB members or not.

Just to back up Gene... I am not ticked off or disappointed in any way what so ever. there is not a Baltimore team for me or kev to represent as an FAB member. The decision was simple. I am perfectly cool with it. I even made a comment to Joe and even in a thread prior to losing MOD status that it was good while it lasted. I knew it was coming. Once again, It is cool.

I agree with Fridge. His only error is that he is attempting to apply logic to the situation.
Theory: Hodas comes out tomorrow and announces the Freeze have folded. Morris says another team will be coming to Erie but we don't know what they will be called.
Based on recent history, Joe, Fridge and Scooter are removed from the FAB (they have no team), thus Gene and I have a beer bong battle for supremacy!
Fact is it could happen to any of us and I would have a hard time being a fan of any other team. Just the way I am.
So, Fridge is right ... we need some sort of policy on folding teams.

I'm still curious when I can be considered for the Pittsburgh FAB member. Ask Hauser or Haines how dedicated I was to a team that many here thought was going to be a laughing stock before the season even started.
I made it to home games against Reading, Danville, and Johnstown. And road games to Canton, Johnstown, and Danville. Sure, only six games, but that was on a difficult work schedule. Plus, that Danville trip home wasn't that much fun pulling into the driveway at 8am with no sleep.

Is this correct and if so how did you make it to all those Pittsburgh games?

His house is in Steubenville.
Had to post again. Syk, you know the reason you're not on the FAB is such that Joe has a team to keep him in control if/when Erie folds.

I dont know how much truth there is to that since turfburn is a FAB rep for the Riverrats. Ideally, we would have up to 3 reps for each team to cover us in case someone leaves or just isnt active enough, if at all. I guess this will be another policy that is yet to be suggested......

Integrity and honest goes a long way. But, in order to come to that understand, you first must look in the mirror at yourself. Unfortunately, these virtues are hard to find today.
You can blame others for your shortcomings, you can say “Look, it’s happening everywhere else”, you can ridicule others for how they do things or you can proclaim that you’re the best thing since peanut butter and jelly. Or, better yet, you can start assuming responsibility and accountability for your league and/or franchise. What would be refreshing is to see a league and/or franchise come out and say “Hey, we made a mistake.” It’s tough to be man when everyone is searching for excuses.
Bottom line: There are some major issues in indoor/arena football at this level; both with leagues and at the franchise level. Don’t kid yourself and think you don’t have problems. Even the best teams and the best leagues can do a better job. Don’t be hypocritical in the blame of others when you, yourself are doing the same. Spin it how you like. In the end, it’s just smoke and mirrors. It’s tough to fix someone else’s house when yours is falling down around you.
This game is about the players and the fans. That’s what’s so great about indoor/arena football. It’s not about the owners, GM’s, staff or coaches. It’s about the players and the fans. They are the TEAM. Leagues and franchises need to start recognizing this and make these assets priority number one, even when it means having to state the truth.
It’s saddening to see how we’ve come to treat this game. With so many passionate individuals involved, we’ve fallen short of what it truly means to be professional. It’s not about pay. It’s about attitude, representation and character.
Ask me, I’ll tell you I’ve made mistakes. I know I’m not perfect and Lord knows that I haven’t had the success I desire at this level. I take full responsibility for that. No matter what has been handed to me, I still believe I should win. Nor do I type this proclaiming to have all the answers. But, I have been around a while and have seen the good, the bad and the ugly.
If I ever get to the point where I feel I can no longer have a positive influence on this game, it’s time for me to hang up my clip board and whistle. For now, I still have that burning passion to make a difference.
