The UIFL map is changing and will continue to do so as the summer progresses. The management team that has agreed to lead the UIFL into the future knew that there would be movement among the teams as the new league guidelines began to unfold. With higher expectations, new levels of accountability and communication, it was inevitable that some teams would choose to move in a different direction. The Cincinnati Commando’s owner Dennis Whitman and the Marion Blue Racers owner LaMonte Coleman have notified the league of their intention to leave the league at this time. While we are saddened by the departure, we know that this announcement will only increase the UIFL efforts to improve the product. We wish only good things for Dennis, LaMonte and the teams involved. On July 3rd the UIFL released all member teams from their contracts, in order for an evaluation of each team, to ensure that commitment to the 2013 minimum guidelines and standards can be met. The UIFL also hopes to begin to announce the addition of new teams to our league that embrace the levels of competition and expectations that the new league has outlined for teams moving forward. While change is never comfortable, for the UIFL change means growth and development, and that is our present motivation. Our league mission statement outlines our willingness to be a developmental league at all levels. We will continue to keep our players first and help them to strive to reach their goals. We will also work to keep our teams comfortable and our budgets manageable. uiflfootball.com/uifl-continues-to-move-forward-in-new-direction/Attachments:
