RICHMOND VA.- The Indoor Football League (IFL) has named QB Chris Dixon, LB Xavier Jordan and K Adrian Trevino Vidswap.com 2012 Conference Championship Players of the Week.
Sioux Falls teammates QB Chris Dixon and LB Xavier Jordan have been named Vidswap.com’s Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. K Adrian Trevino has been named Vidswap.com’s Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively.
IFL Offensive Player of the Week: Sioux Falls QB Chris Dixon (6’0, 200, Humbolt St.) wins his second Offensive Player of the Week award in as many weeks after Sioux Falls defeated the Green Bay Blizzard 61-42. Dixon, who has won four IFL conference championships, had another stellar performance as he completed 14 of 20 passes for 231 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, Dixon rushed eight times for 45 yards and two touchdowns. In his career, Dixon has now surpassed 2,000 IFL postseason passing yards and is currently sitting at 2,101 yards. He has also surpassed 50 postseason passing touchdowns.
IFL Defensive Player of the Week: Storm LB Xavier Jordan (6’3, 225,Mars Hill College) is the second Sioux Falls player to receive a league honor this week. Jordan made arguably the play of the week as he intercepted an errant Blizzard QB Donovan Porterie pass and returned it for a touchdown. The interception for a touchdown seemed to change the momentum of the game as the play helped the Storm go on a 28-0 run starting at the end of the third quarter.Jordan also finished the game with seven tackles and one tackle for loss.
IFL Special Teams Player of the Week: Green Bay K Adrian Trevino (5’11, 210, Missouri Valley College) kicked an IFL Postseason record five field goals in Green Bay’s 61-42 loss to the Sioux Falls Storm. Trevino kicked field goals from 20,30,34,40 and 44 yards. He also added three point after touchdowns. Trevino finished with 18 total points.
