Richmond, VA - The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the 2012 All-IFL First and Second teams.
Sioux Falls Storm QB Chris Dixon, after a stellar season in which he broke the IFL record for passing yards, takes home his fourth First Team All-IFL honor in as many years. In total, six members of the undefeated Sioux Falls squad take home All-IFL honors. WR Carl Sims, OL Myniya Smith and C Charlie Sanders, in addition to Dixon, took home First Team honors. LB DeJuan Fulgham and WR Clinton Solomon earned Second Team honors.
Green Bay RB LaRon Council, fresh off becoming the first 1,000 yard rusher in IFL history, earned First Team honors. Council set IFL records in rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns this season. Green Bay had two additional players earn honors as well. Both OL Seth Smalls and B. J Hill were named to All-IFL Second Team. Green Bay's playoff opponent, the Bloomington Edge had four players on defense receive honors. DB James Temple, LB Ameer Ismail and DL Jeff Sobol garnered First Team selections. DL Antonio Ficklin took home Second Team honors.
After posting a franchise- best 12 wins, the Tri-Cities Fever had five representatives selected. DB Lionell Singleton and DL Jake Kileen were selected to the First Team while QB Houston Lillard, WR Steven Whitehead and OL William Falakiseni took home Second Team honors. The Fever's cross-state rival the Everett Raptors had two players selected to the First Team. WR Andre Piper-Jordan and KR Mike Tatum were selected to the First Team Offense and Special Teams, respectively.
Four teams had two representatives earn honors. Allen DB Frankie Solomon Jr. was selected to the First Team while teammate RB Darius Fudge took home Second Team honors. The Wichita Wild had a First Team pair of representatives in OL Jason Enos and DL Matt Moss. The Omaha Beef had two Second Team players in LB Peter Buck and K Gary Cismesia. Lehigh Valley's had a First and Second Team selection in Matt Cohen and Marvin Johnson, respectively.
Two IFL rookies were given First Team honors. Wyoming WR Jasonus Tillery, took home First Team honors for the Cavalry."It is a blessing but I know none of it would be possible without my teammates and Coach Majic. I am thankful and honored,added Tillery. Colorado Ice Rookie Kicker Aric Goodman was the other rookie to take home first team honors. Goodman's teammate OL Michael Trice earned Second team honors.
Chicago LB Lenny Radkte was the lone All-IFL selection for the Chicago Slaughter earning First Team honors on Defense. Nebraska WR Kayne Farquharson, New Mexico Ironman Roland Bruno, Reading DL Mike Dell and Cedar Rapids DB T.J Simmons received Second Team honors as their lone representatives of their teams.
