Defensive backs Jamar, Jamaal Hibler sign with Saginaw Sting
SAGINAW -- Twins Jamar and Jamaal Hibler will once again be playing side by side in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
The Hiblers both signed contracts Tuesday to play defensive back for the Saginaw Sting in 2012, after playing together at Saginaw High and at Northwood for four years.
"I've had the opportunity to coach against both of these great athletic individuals when they were in high school and watch them grow throughout their college careers at Northwood," Sting defensive coordinator Fred Townsend said in a statement. "They haven't changed a bit. They are very explosive and it will be exciting to have them play for the Sting."
After earning All-State honors at Saginaw High in 2005, both played at Northwood from 2006-09. As a senior, Jamar earned second-team All-GLIAC honors.
The Sting have now signed 24 players to participate in its training camp, which starts Feb. 20 at the Saginaw Athletic Club. The regular season starts Sunday, March 18 at The Dow Event Center.
