December 17, 2011 - American Indoor Football (AIF) Harrisburg Stampede
HARRISBURG, PA (December 17, 2011) - Harrisburg Stampede's General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that Fan Favorite and Assistant Harrisburg HS Football Coach Eugene Goodman has signed with the Stampede for the 2012 Season.
The 5'9 210lb Smithfield, Virginia native has left his mark on the field in his high school, college and pro careers. At Smithfield HS he was an Offensive and Defensive All-State player. His senior year saw Eugene gain 1200+ yards rushing and 19 touchdowns. His college football was played in Lynchburg, Virginia and Liberty University. He was an All-Big South selection as a running back in his Junior and Senior years. He complied over 2300 yards rushing and 30 touchdowns. His pro career started in the CFL with Montral. His football shifted to the Indoor game where he has gained over 2000 yards rushing and 92 touchdowns. So it's no surprise that OC Ken Miller is excited to have such an experienced and talented RB. "He gives your offense a chance to show a lot of different looks, formations and the ability to mix the run and the pass games" said Miller.
Goodman has been with Harrisburg for the last three seasons and lives and works locally. Including helping out as an Assistant Football Coach at Harrisburg High School. We are sure his players will enjoy seeing their coach practice what he preaches. Eugene is the type of player and person that will always give his time and attention to the kids and his adult fans as well. He has one mission this season and that is to have this team go all the way and claim that illusive Championship Ring.
Just a Reminder: Stampede Open-Try Out Saturday January 7 at Gameface International Sports Complex in Temple Pa., Registration starts at 9pm and the Work-Out is from 10pm - 12:30am
Coming Soon: Team Game Schedule, Ticket Info which Includes Free Parking
