December 11, 2011 - American Indoor Football (AIF) Harrisburg Stampede
HARRISBURG, PA (December 11, 2011) - Harrisburg Stampede's General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has signed Defensive Lineman, Marcus Zimmerman for the 2012 Season.
Marcus played his High School football at Manheim Central and still resides locally in Lititz, Pennsylvania. At Manheim Central, Marcus was a 3 time All Lancaster/Lebanon League Offensive and Defensive Linemen. In his junior year he was the Player of the Year Runner-Up. In his senior year Marcus had 150 tackles and 12 sacks, which helped him to earn Player of the Year honors.
After his high school career was completed, Marcus took his college career to the always talented, Bloomsburg Huskies. At Bloomsburg, Marcus continued to be a force on the Defensive Line and started all 4 years for the Huskies, culminating with All-PSAC honors his senior year. Some of his stats at Bloom; 134 tackles, 12 sacks, 25.5 tackles for a loss 3 fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
We are really excited to have Marcus signed with the Stampede. This is a great kid to be around and he has several things that just can't be over-looked. He has been brought up throughout his career with great coaching. To come from Manheim Central and Bloomsburg, you know you are getting a quality player. The PSAC kids that we get are always hard workers, smart and most importantly, true team players, commented Coach Nowotarski and his 6' 290lbs with speed steps and strength doesn't hurt either.
Just a Reminder: Stampede Open-Try Out Saturday January 7 at Gameface International Sports Complex in Temple Pa., Registration starts at 9pm and the Work-Out is from 10pm - 12:30am
