I just wanted to say i had a good time up there Had some good fans there. Only Problem i had was one of the Ball Kids Laughed when Fearon was Hurt. We all know you never laugh when a guy is down from something in sports. Not sure the name of the Owner was but he was great always coming over chatting with us Baltimore Fans was a real nice guy. Hey is there any video Joe of your kicker with that one ball through the rafters. For anyone that missed it there Kicker sorry i cant think of his name Kicked the ball and it went through about 4 of the rafters and didn't hit a thing and came into Play. Was the Best kick i had seen until J.R'S the Final Kick of the game. Great time in erie and around town there. Looks like a nice baseball stadium also.

I agree Ed i always have a good time when im in Erie, my fav roadtrip. Unfortunately i waaaay overdid it when i was there for this years season opener, lol. Sounds rude of the ball boy to be laughing at an injured player and i sure hope Fearon is ok.

I've been complaining about some of our ball boys all year. One of them swears 3 or 4 times a game and spits on the field. He's probably the same model citizen you're talking about

you know what, I was at this game also.... 1st i will say there are some great fans in Erie.... IT is a great place to visit and I would even go again.
But the Ball Boys are classless, the PA announcer is a total dickhead! You don't taunt a player when he is lining up, if its crown noise so be it. But no PA noise.....
The Coaching staff has even less class then the PA announcer....
I sure hope Erie beats Fayettville and we beat Reading.... I can't wait to go to Harrisburgh to taunt the living hell out of the Erie staff on July 2nd......
Also the owner of the team i have to give alot of credit to, this guy came over many times to make sure things were ok and that shows class.... more then i can say for the dickhead with the MIC

Last season i remember the PA guy talking right up till the ball was snapped. Harrisburg was bad with it a few weeks ago too with both the PA guy and the DJ. But when you have a league that doesnt enforce any rules thats how it goes. Im sure Joe and Mitch have seen it at many other arenas too when they broadcast games...

I didn't overlook it. I pasted them at the beginning of this post Look through this thread again. 1st page. I also have to believe that Bob misunderstood this thread as well as his thought that i was trashtalking against Baltimore in the chatroom the other day. Fact is, when i went into the chatroom 1/2hr before kickoff i stated and i quote "as much as it pains me to say it i am a Baltimore fan today". Dave H could even back me up on that cause he laughed when i said it. Where the trashtalk did come in was when 2 other Mariner fans started to start in with "Reading sucks" & "bye bye Reading" (cause with a potential Erie win the Express would all but be eliminated) and a few other similar remarks. Personally i didnt really care as its just trashtalk anyways so i went along with it. I still hate Baltimore ever since the drunk Mariners fan incident back in 2008 and seriously doubt i'll be at the game in 2 weeks but thats besides the point. ;D

Gene, fact is I came into the chat room in the 4th quarter. I didn't know who some of the chatters were. Just when Erie took the lead all hell broke lose. There were all kinds of Baltimore sux, etc. posts. But the tables did turn when we went ahead. I would personally like to invite you to attend the Reading game and be my guest. (Ticket will be paid for). Don't judge all of Baltimore just on a few drunks!!! I live up in Harford County which is closer to you than the arena. You could drive down with me.

I'd love to go & hang out with ya Bob but my fiancee is only up here with me for 7 weeks & we would just rather be together for that weekend. I will be sure to tune in to the Express webcast though. Thanks for the offer....

It was only when they and everyone else thought the Mariners had lost that the trash talk began. Even then it was just good old fashioned trash talk. There was a Mariner fan in the room, not sure who, that started with personal attacks. There are a few bad fans with every team. Erie, Baltimore, Reading... We all have a few bad apples. I always start crap with ThatRadioGuy, but it is all in competitive fun. What would be the fun of sports if we all played nice. There is just a time and place for it. And don't make it personal. I always make sure to tell the guys I get into it with that it is all lighthearted ribbing.

To HRJessop,
Can we clarify something please? I am the PA announcer for the Storm and it wasn't me chanting into the mic taunting Cipra, it was one of our gameday hosts.
I follow the league rules concerning PA noise to the T. I am probably the only announcer in the league this year that's actually been flagged for a noise violation because I accidentally had the mic on and was tapping it along with the crowd. No warnings from the ref or anything
Since then I have not spoken or made any noise past the huddle break because I pride myself in being very professional at what I do. I am sure any fans that were at the game will vouch for this.
The only thing I did at the game that could remotely be considered "taunting" was announcing Cipra as Garry Cipra because A) That's how he was listed as on Baltimore's roster, and B) I was told to because Cipra intentionally kicked a football during warmups into our DJ equipment and smashed the kid's laptop. He also happens to be the son of our gameday operations guy...aka...my boss.
I do want to commend the group of Baltimore fans that sat a section over from me to my right as they were very passionate in supporting their team. I don't think they were rude or obnoxious in any way. I even took a picture for them on one of their cameras before the game.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but why wasn't the ball just squibbed on the ground down the middle of the field? Knowing that Baltimore has the best kicker in the league, if I'm Erie I take my chances with a run back for a td before letting them lineup for a game winning fg. In my opinion a poor coaching decision on Erie's part.

Let me run it down for you:
The call was for a hard deep squib kick on the ground. We even called a TO to set it up. Our kicker made a mistake and felt really bad about it. The same kicker made some crucial kicks during the game. The one that got away at the end was the one that killed us.

I will vouch for ThatRadioGuy and say that it is normally one of our two game day hosts that are doing the taunting. And I will even make an educated guess that one of them was tapping their mic, and not you Dom.
