The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced today that Bob Sanders of the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts will be honored prior to the Otters game against the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Tullio Arena. The event marks the only opportunity for the general public to recognize the accomplishments of Sanders, an Erie native who helped carry the Colts to their first title. In addition, two lucky fans in attendance at Sunday's game will be selected to meet Sanders in a private suite during the game. The grand prize winner will also receive an autographed Bob Sanders Indianapolis Colts jersey while the runner-up will win a Bob Sanders autographed football. Tickets for the game are available now at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations as well as the Erie Civic Center Box Office. The Otters (13-41-1-2) return to action Friday night when they travel to Kitchener to face the Rangers (38-15-1-3) in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on True Oldies 1330 and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. Saturday the Otters return home to the Tullio Arena to meet the Ottawa 67 www.ottershockey.com/press-box/news/story?id=249

Definitely! The Otters have been dreadful this season (in case you couldn't tell from the 13-41-1-2 record). The last Sunday afternoon game there were about 2,000 people there.
Bringing Bob Sanders in will get people through the gate who normally wouldn't be there.

This would have made more sense at a Freeze homegame, but I guess whatever works. I think this is the worst Otturds season by far.

Also, Bob Sanders has been added to the display of players from Erie who have won the Super Bowl under the press box at Veterans Stadium.
