I was in attendance at the Heroes Legends game on saturday night and witnessed one of the most embarassing displays of my entire life. The kicker for Canton missed 2 extra points, a short field goal and kicked off poorly all game. But once Canton scored its go ahed touchdown he had no more pressure and made his final two extra points and a kickoff and follewed up these kicks with celebratory dances and mocked the crowd. Huntington's kicker made all his extra points, two uno's and his lone field goal attempt. In the first game of the season I saw him make two uno's as well and made both of his field goal attempts, one from 47. My questions to you guys are 1) is that guy serious, does he realize how dumb he looks, and 2) is our kicker the best in the league being 4/7 on fgs and having 4 unos.

I was at the game the reason he did that was because of the people over by the bench riding him and the rest of the team all game so he just was having some fun with those fans as far as missinging the short field goal he really didn't miss it there were 4 of us in that endzone 2 for canton and 2 for huntington who watched the ball go over the upright and all of us were shocked when they called it no good. I will agree with you you do have a good kicker he just needs to learn how not to hit the rafter on the kickoffs.
By the way welcome to the site

I see you never played football? everyone as off games, or trying to hard. As for your kicker being the best in the league, not sure how other teams kickers are doing, do know the Titians kicker has at least 4 uno's , so if he's not the best right now he's at least in the top 4 Funny I thought the Embarrassing display for your entire life would have been the Heroes chocking in the game, How stupid did that make the team look

I won't discuss individual kickers, but I would like to comment about the comments about the Reading Kickers' performance last week. I think that half the "Kicking Game" depends A LOT on the location the particular game being played. And before I go any further, this is not a knock on any city or arena in the AIFA or AIFL. Having the opportunity to visit a number of arenas last season, I got to see first hand how difficult it is for any kicker to adjust game to game and arena to arena. Every arena in the AIFA and AIFL is unique and has a style that the kickers need to conform to in order to be successful. A kicker who gets to play 7 games in Reading, Erie or Syracuse would have MUCH better stats than one that has 7 home games at Steubenville, Huntington or Canton. The first three Arenas are larger with higher ceilings and few or no obstructions. The latter three have low ceilings and several obstructions. In Steubenville for example, Syk correct me if I'm wrong, I think Readings' Kicker was the only person to make an UNO last season at St. Johns Arena. This building has a lower ceiling than most and a large center scoreboard with black netting around and under it protecting a group of speakers hanging under the scoreboard. Kickers were forced to kick around the scoreboard when attempting an UNO. Canton also has lower ceilings, with a collection of grid work or pipes that footballs seem to be attracted to. While a place like Reading has HIGH ceilings with no obstructions. These conditions would be very likeable to a kicker. Reading has a great kicker with perfect conditions and puttiing those two factors will insure success in indoor football. Another factor is a line drive styled kicker vs. a more traditional booming or lobber kicker. The style of kicker you are would also be a positive or negative factor when mixed with the "Arena" factor. What I would suggest is you go down on the field after a game and chat with one of them. They'll be glad to talk to you about their game. And KUDOS to you Picman, You made a very good point!

thanks Scooter, your post is what I like it make me think, I never really thought much about how the different arenas would effect the kickers, but lets be honest their just kickers nobody really thinks about them that much

I definately have to agree with the previous post. Huntington has definately improved their facilities this year though, with a nicer building and a higher ceiling. I definately think that you have to take into account when a kicker or a quarterback for that matter gets to play in an arena with a higher roof. I've been to canton, reading, and huntington and reading definately has the advantage of the nicest facility. I think this year when they pick kicker of the year they should definately take into account these factors. Just some thoughts and I agree with just stating opinions and facts not talking smack.....there's other boards for that!!!
