I think Dan is having some login problems, so he asked me to post this here. Just for comparison of course...
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- All 29 World Indoor Football League games including the championship game of the inaugural 2007 season will be streamed on the internet –with seven featuring delayed videocasts -- with the league's new media partners—EZStream and Double D video productions.
"I'm very impressed with EZStream's quality and I'm looking forward to a great working relationship,'' said WIFL Director of Communications Dan Ryan."If you can't make the game, just boot up the computer and get complete coverage. If you went to the game, come home, boot up the computer and download an archived game. I'm excited about that.
“Double D is a local company from Daytona Beach I’ve had great respect for and I’m was very impressed with their proposal, presentation and potential to deliver a top-notch product,” Ryan added.
The WIFL league office will provide each team with the means to "broadcast" its home games, but is encouraging the respective teams to purchase seven broadcasts to cover their road games.
On another front, the WIFL has contracted Double D to carry its “WIFL GAME OF THE WEEK” of delayed six regular season games that users can view FREE of charge and the championship game live for a nominal fee.
WIFL "GAME OF THE WEEK SCHEDULE"
2/11 -- Augusta at Daytona Beach
2/24 -- Augusta at Osceola
3/10 -- Osceola at Columbus
3/24 -- Columbus at Augusta
5/12 -- Osceola at Daytona Beach
5/21 -- Columbus at Daytona Beach
“This is obviously the next step in quality web based broadcasting,” said WIFL Commissioner Gary Tufford. “We have been researching and discussing the best route to bring our games to the fans. It was in the works, we just took the necessary time to choose the right partner for this venture and finalize the right plan.
“This is not new technology, it has just become more familiar to more people,’’ Tufford added. “It enhances what we already have and I am looking forward to taking it as far as possible.”
The venture’s name of INTERNETWORK represents the realistic approach by the league in creating a narrowcasted medium catering to a niche market.
“The NFL has a network, but they also have high-priced talent and a set that resembles the bridge of the starship Enterprise,” Ryan said. “We’re not a broadcast network – when Tuff greenlights an Aaron Sorkin dramedy, another version of CSI and a degrading reality show, then we’re talking.”
Tufford says that the INTERNETWORK fits in with the overall plan of the start-up league’s inaugural season.
“Of course we would love to say that we are creating this massive television vehicle but that just isn’t true or realistic.” Tufford said. “I am all too familiar with how difficult it is to produce television well. We are leaving that to those who do TV and we’ll handle the football.
“I am also very pleased to be offering the regular season viewings at no cost,” Tufford added. “We felt very strong about getting the product out in our first season.”
In additional, plans are being tweaked for a league-wide coaches and additional video features and highlights.”
“With the advent of the you tube.coms and technology, we need to do video and we are going to do video,’’ Ryan said. “We simply want to set it up so we do it right and get all the teams their fair share.”
Websites powered by the EZStream system provide some of the best content on the Internet today. In the past two years alone, EZStream sites have delivered over 6,000 broadcasts to tens of thousands of listeners worldwide.
EZStream clients include radio and television stations, state high school athletic associations, syndicated radio shows, high school booster clubs and athletic teams, and freelance producers.
Double D is owned and operated by Dan Driscoll and has been producing sports video in the Daytona Beach area since 1985.
