Experienced Staff Kicks-Off Busy Off-season for 1st Mariner Arena Football Team
BALTIMORE, MD (October 21, 2009) – The Baltimore Mariners have named Elizabeth Guaraldo (Director of Baltimore Mariners Cheerleading), Jim Hopkins (Director of Game Day Operations), and John Wolfe (Public Relations Director) to front office positions for the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) team.
“As a former arena player at every level, the one thing I know for sure is that nothing happens without the Public Relations Department, Game Day Coordinator, and the Cheerleading and/or Dance teams on your side. Although fans come to watch a football game, there is so much that goes into game day throughout the entire year to create a wonderful game day experience on and off the field,” said Mariners General Manager Greg Justice.
This will be Elizabeth Guaraldo’s first season with the Baltimore Mariners. Guaraldo has been the Director of the National Indoor Soccer League’s Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders since 2007. The Blast Cheerleaders have released two swimsuit calendars, performed at the AST Dew Tour and have traveled to Bermuda to participate in the Island Soccer League (ISL) All Star game that took place this summer. Prior to working with the Mariners, Guaraldo was a 2005-2006 Washington Redskins Cheerleader. She went to college at UMBC where she was on their dance team as both a member and a captain.
Jim Hopkins will be returning as the Mariners’ Director of Game Day Operations. The 2010 season will be Hopkins fourth in professional sports and third with the Baltimore Mariners. In 2007 he worked game day operations for the Baltimore Blackbirds of the AIFA and in 2008, the Mariners first; he was Chief of the Chain Crew. For the 2009 season, Hopkins was named Director of Game Day Operations. In addition to his game day activities, Jim has worked extensively for the Mariners on community outreach and has built strong relationships with many organizations including the Baltimore Tailgators Society, the Catonsville Ravens Club, Poe’s Crows, Raven Nests, and Ravens Roosts.
This will also be John Wolfe’s fourth season in professional sports. In 2007 he served as the General Manager for the Blackbirds and in 2008 held the same position for the Chesapeake Tide of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Following the 2008 season he continued as General Manager and oversaw the re-branding of the Tide to the Maryland Maniacs and their subsequent move to the Indoor Football League (IFL). For the 2009 season he was named the Mariners’ Media Relations Director. Following expansion of his duties he is currently serving as Baltimore’s Public Relations Director. Wolfe holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UMBC and Master of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University.
