BALTIMORE, Maryland (October 1, 2009) – A revolution is coming to the American Indoor Football Association for 2010. Specifically, the AIFA is adding the New Jersey Revolution to its ranks for next season. The Revolution is based in Morristown, New Jersey. The team will enter its fifth season of indoor football next year. “This team has a very good track record,” said AIFA co-founder John Morris. “They are in it for the long haul, and they believe in the sport and the AIFA. “The Revolution will be a perfect fit in the American Indoor Football Association. They are well located within our franchise footprint, which will lead to reduced operating expense. And the Revolution will participate in our unique league benefits, including playoff expense support, our national TV package and continuing multimedia exposure through our Internet radio program, This Week in the AIFA. Historic Morristown is located approximately thirty miles west of New York City in the densely-populated New Jersey suburbs. The team plays its home games at the William G. Mennen Arena and is owned and operated by Champion Sports & Entertainment. “I think it's a better fit for us in the AIFA,” spokesman Anthony DeFalco told This Week in the AIFA. “Being with an eight-on-eight league and with the regional teams closer, it will definitely help the bottom line. We will have some excellent rivalries, and I think it will be great for the fans to come and see it.” Additional remarks from Anthony DeFalco can be heard on the upcoming edition of This Week in the AIFA, which will be released next week. The program will also feature an extended interview with AIFA co-founder John Morris. The league is continuing its expansion efforts for 2010. Source: www.aifaprofootball.com/

The Revs played an inde schedule in 2009. They weren't ever accepted back into the CIFL because they didn't fit into the region there.
They do, however, fit into the AIFA's regional concept. And that'll be some fun games, unless they can once and for all find a quarterback.

I mean, i know all teams have them but was it just a regional thing as to why they left the CIFL or were there other underlying financial issues?

From my sources in the CIFL, it was a purely regional thing. The two sides agreed it made no sense for the Revs to be in the CIFL when there were five teams between them and the closest CIFL team.
If there were, I'm sure they'd still be a CIFL team.

A friend who was looking into sponsorship possibilities with the NJ Revolution was told that the Revolution expect to play only 5 or at the most 6 home games this year. Certainly does not sound like the AIFA!

The rest are called "Away Games", Maybe there aren't 7 available dates at the arena.

There would be 20 dates at the arena if they wanted them. They'll play 7/7 if they're in the AIFA.

One of my clients who has sponsored at many minor league baseball venues over the years was looking into the possibilities of doing the same in indoor football. After reading web-sites and checking with other sponsors, I believe he will be doing some sponsorships with IFL and AF1 teams.
Most of the AIFA teams he attempted to contact did not even return e-mails. Even some of the arenas he contacted had no clue about whether the games were going to be played.
Sponsors do not want to wait this long for schedules or even the knowledge of whether teams will be playing.
In any case he contacted the NJ Rev. through their facebook page and was not comfortable with the uncertainty of the answers he received.
