The Youngstown, Ohio-based Mahoning Valley Thunder arena football team has suspended operations.


The 3-year-old af2 team on Wednesday announced that economic conditions were not "conducive to the success of arena football in the Mahoning Valley at this time."

The Thunder went 2-14 in their final season.

Unless the arena has changed its tune (and I think it has some new management, so it likely has), it's not a place any non-AF2 league would be welcomed.
