Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that he has re-signed 4 year starter and the Anchor in the Middle of the Express Defense, Mack LB, Matt Sola. Sola will be returning to the Express for his fifth season. “Matty has become a major force in this league at his Mack LB position. He is an active and agile LB with outstanding speed, mobility and agility. His stats this past season which helped to lead the Express to the AIFA National Championship were of All Pro consideration in my opinion. He had 35 Solo Tackles and 11 assisted Tackles, 4 Sacks, 3 Interceptions a Touchdown, a Safety and 3 blocked kicks. It’s stats like those and his team leadership that make Matty one of the best LB’s in this league. He is one of the most explosive hitters I have ever seen at any level and I have been to all levels, it’s simple, if you have the ball or not and he’s near ya, your gonna get hit!” said Nowotarski. “Matty plays at 6’2” 265lbs, he is a graduate of Reading Central Catholic and Kutztown University and is currently working at a Local Elementary school as a tutor and a teachers aide as well as coaching High School Football in Berks County” commented Nowotarski.
