As coach, travel agent, it's a long weekend for BernieWhenever Bernie Nowotarski decides to give up his job as coach/general manager of the Reading Express, he may need another career. One profession he undoubtedly has crossed off his list of possibilities is travel agent. Although Nowotarski had nearly two weeks to prepare, trying to get 20 players, coaches and equipment from Reading to Casper, Wyo., has been one giant headache. The Express left Reading at 3 Saturday morning to face the Wyoming Cavalry today in the American Indoor Football Association championship game. The Express arrived in Casper Saturday after flying from Reading to Chicago to Denver. Actually, only 18 players were on the plane that left Philadelphia International Airport early Saturday morning. Two others, James Bryant and Will Keglar, flew out of Louisville, Ky., and met up with their teammates. Bryant, a Reading High grad, is attending classes at Louisville. Keglar, a late replacement for injured offensive lineman Chris Nunn, lives in Indiana. Now that everybody is in Casper, Nowotarski can concentrate on what he does best. No matter how today's game goes, Nowotarski will find coaching a lot less stressful than making travel arrangements. - Brian Rippey Source: readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=149775
