Battle of the Lakes Then??? Lake Erie vs Meyer's Lake..... Erie wins automatically. I dunno if there's a name suitable for the rivalry. Took me awhile to find this palace, I'm back scary thought ain't it  I say the Gargantua Trophy, that’s what we are the Giants of the League Wow its got spell check  they must have figured I'd fine the place |

Erie and Canton is, easily, the most established rivalry in this league and we are trying to come up with new and interesting ways to keep it going. Like battle of the dance teams. I have had some discussions with Joe about having a trophy, similar to the Little Brown Jug that the fan clubs could exchange after each game depending on who won. Tell me what you think of a) the idea b) this concept drawing of the trophy.  |

Get the 17” Sport Color Riser w/ Football Riser and FBPhoto Column w/Double Gaelic Football have the individual Names Engraving
Check to see if the engraving can be done on a removable piece? If so have it done that way, you also get two Plaques which when the next season comes the team would move the removable piece and added it to their Plaque while the new one is added to the trophy for the team to show until the next season.
So in all three pieces, on the plaques the name of the trophy I still like Gargantuan name, when the winning team has the trophy it would be under their plaque in their arena
something along those lines, a Trophy to show and Plaques to show when you had the Trophy, saves on bying a Trophy every year, and would cost less than the one with two mini helmets.

The plan was to build the base ourselves. Other than the wood, purchase the black engraving plates, the hardware and the mini helmets (unless the teams would like to DONATE a mini helmet).
Initial cost would be minimal as all we would really have in it would be the time to make it.
After that, I agree with Gene that the cost to add the most recent game should rest with the losing team.

No battle of lake erie, it'd be different if the legends were say in Cleveland or Ashtubula. But we definitely need a trophy between the teams.

Nice looking trophy --- great idea. Each team should be able to donate a mini helmet easily. It would be much cheaper than the league trying to buy one of each. Most teams sell mini helmets anyway right? I really like the looks of this trophy --- Battle of Lake Erie Rampage on the Mississippi River...... i think we have something going here..... |

from what were hearing i hope you didnt spend to much on a rivalry trophy if the freeze dont play then canton wont have a rivalry

The trophy never got off the ground as the Freeze did not have mini-helmets in 2007.
Hopefully, the Freeze and Legends go at it for many years. We will revisit this again in 2008.

Might as well just give the trophy to the Legends now... I have a feeling the Freeze will resemble the '99 Browns.

i honestly wish we had a close rivalry with someone. Canton is our closest opponent, and I would love to have them as rivals, but they wont have it! Someone start a team close to us, please!
