:smileythunder: OREM, Utah - Utah Valley linebacker Charlie Hunt intercepted a Wyoming pass with 1.5 seconds left in the game Saturday night as the Thunder held on for a 43-37 over the Wyoming Cavalry. The win extends the Thunder?s winning streak to six games, while forcing a first-place tie with previously unbeaten Wyoming (6-1) in the American Indoor Football Association Western Conference. The two teams will battle for first place when they meet next Friday night in Casper. The Thunder (6-1) trailed by two points with 3:27 left in the game, but quarterback Mike Affleck scored on a one-yard run with 57 seconds left in the game to give the Thunder the lead for good. The Cavalry marched to the Utah Valley five with less than 10 seconds to go before Hunt intercepted Matt Stand?s pass to preserve the win. Utah Valley defensive back James Allen also had an interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter to thwart a Wyoming drive. Affleck completed 25-of-39 passes for 225 yards and three scores and he also rushed for another. Timmy Simmons hauled in nine catches for 76 yards and one score, while Akamu Aki tallied seven catches for 56 yards and one touchdown. Utah Valley?s Sete Aulai scored a rushing and a receiving touchdown and Chris Bolden scored on a pass from holder Jason Swenson on a fake field goal. Strand completed 22-of-38 passes for 280 yards and four scores. Wide receiver Dante Dudley finished with nine catches for 112 yards and one touchdown. :smileythunder:

congrats Thunder on the win. I'm curious, did UV defense really step up or did the Cavs offense forget how to play? Or maybe a good combo.... anyhow congrats, live it up this week because you have to return to the CEC this Friday.

Congrats. I caught the end of that game. (was flipping through both audiocasts) I had the Harrisburg/Baltimore game on and after it was over finally remembered that game was on. It was neat being able to have a choice of 3 games (I listed to a smidgen of the Erie Game also) top listen to.

Thanks Roozy, ya it was quite the game for both teams. I don't think Wyoming expected UV to really compete, and until they did it was too late. It was really interesting to see just how the two teams match up, because our defense is really what won the game, while your offense is one of the best in the league, so, in my opinion it was the perfect storm and because we played at home and executed better, we came out on top. The real question will be Friday like you said, so I'm most interested if the game will be as good for our team playing away.
All in all, thanks for being a great sport and supporting for the love of the sport. Hopefully this Friday's matchup will provide just as much entertainment for you guys as it did us here! I smell rivalry in the making all over it : )
