Rob Flowers threw for four touchdowns and ran for two Saturday night to lead the Reading Express to a 39-19 American Indoor Football Association win over the D.C. Armor at Washington.
After falling behind when the Armor (1-2) recovered a fumble in the end zone, the Express (3-1) took the lead for good on a pair of touchdown passes from Flowers to Carmelo Ocasio in the first quarter.
Yardon Brantley and Jeff Willis also caught one touchdown pass each for the Express. Flowers also had touchdown runs of 1 and 3 yards.
Reading led just 31-19 with the Armor inside the 5-yard line with nearly five minutes left. Trent Jones made a tackle near the 1 and the Express forced an incomplete pass on fourth down.
Reading drove 49 yards to clinch the win on Flowers second TD run with less than a minute left.
