gave up on running the Leatherheads. I'm not sure who is taking it over. Or even if they are having one or not.

Bah, I was pretty sure that the Leatherheads were defunct. Hopefully they come back!
btw: What's up with the website? Sometimes I get something like the Expressfans site, other times it's completely different.

Let me respond to this from the horse's mouth so to speak ... The Leatherheads fan club actually began in 2006. My son and I began wearing these leather helmets to the games as a bit of a gimick. Hoping the idea caught on with the fans and that we could create a "Dawg Pound", or "Black Hole" type of atmosphere at Legends games. In 2007, with the support of the General Manager and one of the owners, we launched The Leatherheads fan club. We asked the team for a couple of things: A position in the arena to sign up members, support from the organization, discounts on team merchandise and a couple of give aways/special events for fan club members. Under that administration, those items were promised and delivered by the team. The membership fee was $20. The team owns the fan club and received the proceeds. Toward the end of the 2007 season, in an effort to increase season ticket sales, we offered a free membership with season tickets. The agreement was to reimburse the club the free memberships so that we could continue the work we had done the year before. The administration changed. The GM moved to a new position, one owner left the franchise and the reimbursement was never offered or made. I made the decision to make the fan club a free membership, since we had no money and we were unlikely to receive any. Through the course of the 2008 season, requests were made to the front office that were dismissed. I continued on because I had made a promise to the fans to be their voice to the front office. However, it became apparent to me that the fans were not a priority anymore. I continued with the team until the completion of the championship game, fulfilling my promise to the fans. I still gave them one more chance, advocating pricing breaks for season tickets and developing a plan that would give the team an excellent opportunity for sell outs. Again, the requests were ignored. I own the leatherheads domain. The site has not been updated in some time, basically because, if I did, it would not be beneficial to the team. I removed the link from the Legends website and turned website duties over to what little office staff they have. I am no longer affiliated with the Legends. I hope the team succeeds and I wish them well. Should another change in the front office be made, I would be amicable to returning. Until then ...

Wow, I had no idea...
I can't blame you for relinquishing your duties. Hopefully the team does a better job of reaching out to fans in the future.
