Lions Add Two Golden Tigers November 12, 2008 (COLUMBUS, GA)- The Columbus Lions are pleased to announce the signing of two players from Tuskegee University. Head Coach Jason Gibson has added quarterback Kevin Huff and running back Richard Fitzhugh to the Lions’ training camp roster for the 2009 season. Huff, 6-2, 215 was 30-4 as a starter at Tuskegee and threw for nearly 7,000 yards in his three year playing career. The 2006 preseason All-American finished passing 861 times completing 486 of them for 6,895 yards and 41 touchdowns. Huff also rushed for 1,404 yards and 27 touchdowns. Following his playing career, the 2005 Harlon Hill Trophy finalist worked out for the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and the Tampa Bay Storm. Fitzhugh, 5-10, 205 finished playing running back for the golden Tigers in 2007. He rushed the ball 412 times for 2,137 yards and 20 touchdowns in his four years. Fitzhugh earned the Thaddeus V. Greene Award of Character three consecutive years at Tuskegee from 2006-2008. The mechanical engineering major also finished 9th in his class at Woodson High School in Washington, D.C.
