Over this past season alot has been said and alot been done that to say the least was not in the best interest of arena football and the city of Augusta in addition to others.
It is no doubt in my mind and the minds of others that the performance and or lack of it by the Colts ownership and management has done massive harm to the community relations, the team and themselves. This is fact and is not up for debate. However with that said it needs to end right there. It is all public record and yes the ones who did it should be ashamed for doing their part in this.
My motives for yelling, screaming and the motives of others on this board are to do the following 1.) Make it known that we are tired of it 2.) Continue to do what is needed to keep arena football sucessful in the CSRA because of its core family values and good entertainment value 3.) Make Augusta and even greater city with even more to offer.
We have tried as have others to voice our concerns which do have merit to them but they have fallen on deaf ears. As a result of this we are now faced with no team in 2009 and more than likely 2010.
Augusta will support and stand by Arena football however Augusta deserves a team with ownership, management dedicated to being well rounded and with love of the game and community. If for some reason you feel that my conduct and the conduct of others was out of line. We are sorry however our mission which we stand by and support 100% is to establish a team in Augusta with above all class, dignity, tradition.
A year off may do considerable harm to Augusta because the folks that live here have a short memory. I do however feel like its worth a try but do feel like new ownership, management or a must for this to be sucessful. I appauld the basketball team for doing what they have done and summoned everybody involved in sports in Augusta for ideas, suggestions, and for establishing good relations with everyone.
In closing folks if I are anyone else here was a tad out of line were sorry. Our passion is our team it doesnt matter if we are a colt, a raven, a spartan, a lion or a duck.
