The Augusta Colts are proud to report that rumors of our demise are very premature. In fact, if you have not taken a look at our Community Events calendar lately, please take a moment to do so. (Click here!) You will notice that the Colts will be out and about in the CSRA this week, beginning with our volunteer participation in the Augusta Partnership for Children’s Week activities (October 3-9). Our staff will also make stops at both the Laurel & Hardy and the Sassafras Festivals (Oct. 4th); while Rusty the Colt will make brief appearances at the WJBF Health & Wellness Expo (on behalf of sponsor Doctors Hospital) and at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (on behalf of our wounded veterans).

Speaking of the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Rusty was also there this past weekend to welcome home our returning troops! The latest additions to our photo gallery (featuring this VA Welcome Home Ceremony) is now online!

NOTE: We are also adding a new feature to our website, a Community Events Bulletin Board (Click here!) where you will find additional information regarding the CSRA activities and events which are supported by the Augusta Colts. I hope so! Augusta has been Columbus' best rival for a while off/on! We need them back standing on firm ground. Good luck guys

I didn't see the post, but I heard about the post. It had a personal attack in it. Therefore, it was deleted.

Ok! I don't believe the whole town is hating football and would refuse it from a new owner. Columbus has gone through its share of teams and just because the ownership of the wardogs and Vipers goes under doesn't mean that the ownership of the Lions would ever be blamed for past events Or even felt like they had to make up for someone's elses bad decisions. Thats why new owners have new names for their teams like Stallions, spartans, and yes even Colts! Just because Scisson made bad decisions doesn't mean the next guy is going to have to answer for it. Nor do I believe the city of Augusta would refuse the business of indoor football!

......Sorry it's going or has gone sour AGAIN but negativity never gets anyone anywhere. Just because its gone in '09 doesn't mean you can't hope for the best. Now is the time to write/e-mail the people you need to in order to get the job done right the next time it rolls around because come on it's gonna be back oneday and you will support it like you have in the past.

I'm locking this thread up. There was too many personal attacks. With names and such being mentioned. I deleted all of those posts. I can state this: Augusta has paid their league dues. And are making an effort to get out more with the community. I will not tolerate personal attacks on any individual, no matter what the circumstances.
