A former head coach of the Lehigh Valley Outlawz is suing the professional indoor football team and owner James DePaul for $350,000, claiming breach of contract and defamation of character.
Gregory Justice, who coached from September to January, says in the suit filed Monday in Northampton County Court that he was suspended from his coaching duties without justification.
Justice, who lives in Reading, also says his character was defamed in an Outlawz news release dated Feb. 21 that accuses him of "dishonesty, violations of team rules and tampering with player contracts," according to the suit.
The suit says Justice is now a player with the Baltimore Mariners, but he is listed on the team's Web site as the offensive line coach.
The Mariners are part of the American Indoor Football Association.
The Outlawz played last season in the Continental Indoor Football League, but they have applied for admission to the new Indoor Football League. Their home games are played at Lehigh University's Stabler Arena.
Efforts to reach DePaul on Monday evening were unsuccessful. He did not immediately return a message left at the Outlawz office.

No former coach Justice was clueless when it came to running a team as well as marketing which he told ownership I'll do at least 100k and in fact he did about $4500. most of which was trade and not cash. Then spent most of his time in the gym instead of working. Good luck Mariners on this one.
