Former Bears quarterback Jim McMahon and football analyst Hub Arkush have accepted new duties with the Chicago Slaughter, the professional indoor football team that plays at the Sears Centre.
McMahon will become part of a "college of coaches" that will assist the Slaughter frontoffice in community and public relations events. Arkush, the editor and publisher of Pro Football Weekly, will join the Slaughter's broadcast team.
"This will reunite two former Chicago Sports legends that captivated the hearts of every sports fan in the city during their careers," said Gerry Clarke, president of Team and Business Operations.
McMahon will be reunited with former Bears player and Slaughter head coach Steve "Mongo" McMichael.
"I am looking forward to working with Mongo this season and helping the Slaughter succeed in anyway possible," McMahon said.
Slaughter officials plan to make more announcements and release details of its "college of coaches" and broadcast coverage at a media conference next Tuesday. The Slaughter is part of the Continental Indoor Football League.
