Ok guys, I have a draft coming up and need some advice. I am in a 14 team keeper league where we can keep: 1qb, 1rb, 1 wr, 1 (te,def, or K) and 1 flex player any position.
We keep the player in the round in which we drafted him (ex I drafted Steven jackson 4th rd as a rookie and as long as I keep him he's my 4th rd pick) I'm keeping: S Jackson 4th, T Holt 6th, J Lewis 7th, and M Schaub 15th.
Anyway to my question - a guy dropped out so all of his players go back in the draft, so my quandry is, with the #1 overall pick do I take P Manning or M Barber - we play 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, and one Flex position (RB or WR) + D and K. And to add to this Jackson and Lewis have the same BYE week.
Please give me your opinions.

Then you have a week where both your RB's have a bye. If it were me i would draft a rb in the 1st rd as it sounds like you wouldnt score any points at that position otherwise.

Schaub isn't on a bad team, but it doesn't matter - I'd take Manning over Barber any day of the week.
Most leagues have this neat function called "trading" that allows strengths to strengthen other positions.
Me, my personal preference is the "antifantasy" league, where your goal is to get the players/defensive teams that perform worst.

Texans Standings since inception: 2008- ? 2007- 8-8 2006- 6-10 2005- 2-14 2004- 7-9 2003- 5-11 2002- 4-12
Totals- 32-64
In 6 seasons only once have they had a .500 or better record and they have never made the playoffs. If this doesnt qualify as a bad team then i dont know what does?

The team is on the upswing. The NFL is so fleeting that you have to evaluate on how you think a team will do this year.
And I think Houston's going 8-8 or 9-7. Hardly a bad team. Their offense will do quite well - I think Schaub will be a fantasy sleeper this year.

I too see Houston gettin 8-9 wins but i dont see them making the playoffs again....

Like last year, 10 may not be enough in the AFC.
Fantasy-wise, Vick was better, because running yards are worth so much - and picks don't discredit guys much.
