Baltimore Mariners Announce 2009 Coaching Staff

(Baltimore, MD. August 8th 2008) When it comes to football operations and the Baltimore Mariners, there is no off-season and there is certainly no rest for the weary. From the day the Baltimore Mariners ended their inaugural 2008 campaign, preparations began in the cultivation of the 2009 season. While the official start of the American Indoor Football Association's 2009 season does not launch until March, things at the Mariners' offices located at 1st Mariner Arena have been in full swing for over three weeks.
The key to developing a successful franchise begins with the staff. In keeping with that cerebration, Baltimore Mariners' head coach Chris Simpson is pleased to announce his selections for the 2009 Baltimore Mariners coaching staff.
MIKE MOYSEENKO: Offensive Coordinator
Mike Moyseenko returns to the Mariners as the team's Offensive Coordinator for the 2009 season.
As a student at the University of Maryland, Moyseenko was a walk-on QB for two years.
During his Junior and senior years at Maryland, Moyseenko worked for both the Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers coach as a student assistant.
In 2008, Mike was hired as the Wide Receivers coach for the Baltimore Mariners. After 8 games, Coach Moyseenko was promoted to the Offensive Coordinator.
Mike currently resides in Baltimore.
BRYAN MILBURN: Defensive Line Coach
Bryan Milburn returns for a second season to the Mariners as the team's Defensive Line Coach.
Milburn began his coaching career in 1998 at Lancaster High School in southern California coach O-line.
Following one season at Lancaster, Coach Milburn hired as the Head Coach for the California Dolphins minor-pro team. From 1999 to 2000, he posted a 21-3 record and his team was nationally ranked both seasons as high as 3 for a while.
In 2007, Coach Milburn Co-founded, and was the Head Coach, for the new minor-pro team in Maryland called the Maryland Sting. After joining the Colonial Football Alliance (CFA) the Sting won the Southern Conference title by posting a 9-3 record. Milburn guided his team into the semi-finals of the playoffs and cracked the top 50 in national rankings.
Bryan currently resides in Baltimore.
STEVE GAUNT: Defensive Coordinator
Steve Gaunt is the new Defensive Coordinator for the Baltimore Mariners.
Coach Gaunt comes to the Mariners after finishing the 2007 season in the same capacity with the Reading Express where he guided the Express defense to the 2007 AIFA Championship
Steve began his coaching career began in 2003 with Daniel Boone High School in Birdsboro, PA.
In the five seasons with them, Gaunt help led Daniel Boone to five consecutive playoff appearances and twice won league honors.
In 2006, Coach Gaunt was hired as the Defensive Line and Special Teams Coach of the Reading Express. The following season, Steve was promoted to Defensive Coordinator.
During these two seasons the Express won 2 Division Titles and 1 Conference Championship. Many of the Coach Gaunt's defensive players achieved All-Star status both seasons, including Defensive Lineman of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year.
Coach Gaunt will also handle the Mariners Special Teams in 2009.
Greg Justice: Offensive Line Coach
Greg Justice is the new Offensive line coach for the Baltimore Mariners.
Coach Justice comes to the Mariners after finishing the 2008 season as a team captain and starter on the offensive line for the Baltimore Mariners.
Greg began his coaching career in 2000 at Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland. He held the positions of Offensive Line Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Head Coach during his three years in the county at two different schools. He has also held the position of Head Coach at the professional ranks in the CIFL, another indoor league.
Greg played college football at the University of Delaware. He has also seen time in the Arena Football League, AF2, AIFL, and the AIFA. He has also attended camps/workouts in the CFL and NFL. In 2007, while a member of the AIFA Reading Express, Greg Justice was honored to be a member of the "Three Pillars of Penn Street" earning himself an AIFA All-Star team appointment at offensive guard and a trip to the AIFA Championship.
Greg currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
