LIONS SIGN FORMER AFL PLAYER Date: 5/14/2008 12:43:38 PM COLUMBUS, GA (May 14, 2008) – On Wednesday, the Columbus Lions of the American Indoor Football League are glad to announce the signing of Defensive Lineman Thaddeus Bullard (6’4” 270, University of Florida). A native of Live Oak, FL, Thaddeus has been in the AFL for five years and has played for the Carolina Cobras, the Las Vegas Gladiators and the Tampa Bay Storm. While in AF2, Bullard and current Lions head coach Jason Gibson were teammates for the Greensboro Prowlers and Lions General manager, Jeff Gonos, was also working for the Prowlers in their Football Operations Department at the time. “Thaddeus is a tremendous athlete with over five years of AFL experience,” says Head Coach Jason Gibson. “Our team, especially our defensive line improved with the signing of Bullard.” Fans can watch Thaddeus’ debut this weekend as the Lions will take on the undefeated Mississippi Mudcats (8-0) this Saturday night in Tupelo, MS.
