From the Reading Eagle news staff
Rob Flowers threw for seven touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Reading Express to a 67-54 road win Saturday night over the Canton Legends in the American Indoor Football Association.
Flowers threw three touchdown passes each to Carmelo Ocasio and Terrance Hudson. He completed 18-of-32 passes for a career-high 246 yards.
Flowers scored on a 1-yard touchdown run late in the first half to give the Express (6-2) a 35-28 lead. He rushed six times for 32 yards.
Thanks to a pair of safeties in the second half, Reading stayed in front of the revamped Legends (0-8). Canton, which scored just one touchdown in a loss to Reading two weeks ago, made a coaching change and had former Ohio State quarterback Scott McMullen return since then.
