Express Open Long Homestand

Coming off a 50-25 defeat to the Columbus Lions, the Express will look to the Express faithful to try and help them get back on the right track. The Express will play four of their next five at Procak Associates Field in the Sovereign Center.

Against Columbus, the Express jumped out to a 9-0 lead courtesy of two Erik Rockhold UNO’s and a 17-yard touchdown catch by wide receiver Jeff Willis. The two teams played the rest of the half evenly and the Lions had a 21-19 lead.

In the second half, the Lions outscored the Express 23-6. The only touchdown for the Express came with 18 seconds left as quarterback Rob Flowers hooked up with wide receiver Shawn Foxworth for a 28-yard touchdown pass.

The Florence Phantoms are 2-2 in the Eastern Division of the AIFA’s Eastern Conference. The Phantoms are coming off of a 39-38 win over the Fayetteville Guard. The Phantoms are led at quarterback by former Bowling Green standout, Omar Jacobs. Wide receivers A.J. Bennett and Tres Moses are Jacobs’ favorite targets. The Phantoms opened up the season with losses to Baltimore and Huntington, but have followed that up with wins over Canton and Fayetteville.

The Express will be back in action next Friday, April 25, against the Canton Legends. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Procak Associates Field in the Sovereign Center.

I won't be able to make two of the games due to circumstances beyond my control which stinks. Someone better call me or leave messages updating me on the scores for the Canton and Fayetteville games.

I keep telling people not to get married but no one ever listens to me. I tried talking the bride into allowing me and the groom to leave the wedding reception for the game but she would have none of it.

that sux Ron. I will try to text you updates but i dont get a good signal inside the arena. If it fails i'll have to text ya after the game.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll have to make sure that Zac calls me as well since I am giving him my tickets for those games.
