You guys dominated us in the 1st half. Somehow we came out a completely different team after halftime. Bernie must have worked his magic in the locker room. There are still things that need to be worked on (not to mention the horrible officiating), but it's good to build some momentum and see that we can get the job done against an undefeated team. Great win Express!!

As tmiles mentioned, two seperate games. The D really stepped up in the second half. 2 D TD, 1 special teams, and 3 rushing TD (Flowers), plus an AMAZING catch by Foxworth (someone should get video footage from the team and post it)

That makes two undefeated teams that got caught on the tracks in the last 6 days. There were some missed calls/not needed calls, but I have to give them credit for settling down the players after the altercation that had occured. But the video people were getting the fans going when they kept showing the Reading player getting thrown down and stomped on.

I 1st off want to apologize to you Huntington guys about the lack of text updates. For some reason or other i couldnt get a signal in the arena. That makes 2 home games in a row i have had that problem. The updates i did give were at halftime and at the end of the game and i had to be outside to make those calls.
As far as the game goes its pretty much as my fellow EXPRESSFANS told it. Not a good showing by the Express offense in the 1st half but as last week they turned it on again in the 2nd. I believe we started the game off with a KO return for a TD by none other than #6 Trent Jones. Huntington came right back and went ahead and the Express played behind most of the 1st half. Not sure but i think the Heroes were up something like 26-13 at the half?
One thing i gotta mention was a personal foul on one of the Heroes players, i believe in the 2nd qtr. There was a scrum between a few of our players and theirs and one of the heroes players threw our guy to the ground then proceeded to stomp him (intentionally) in the face knocking our players helmet off. Needless to say he got ejected as did our player who's helmet got knocked off. I musta missed something here but i dont understand why he was ejected?
Otheriwse a good competitive game. I think we EXPRESSFANS gotta start calling our team the "Cardiac Kids" cause of the way they start slow and finish fast.
Great job Bernie and the rest of the coaches. Same to the team and i'd like to point out the continued dominance of #6 DB Trent Jones and #9 Michael Baldwin who both scored td's in this victory. There is still work to do on offense but Rob Flowers continues to improve and by seasons end i gotta believe we'll be in the post season mix......

We were trying to figure how the heck our player gets tossed when he was getting stomped on, Bernie may be able to help us out on that one.

Great win Express!! I agree Tom. The officiating isnt getting any better. And hey, we beat 2 undefeated teams in a row. Very promising that we are beating the good teams. Next up: Columbus Lions......

I didn't see the stomping from my angle, I had (falsely) assumed that he was ejected for the very late hit (push to the ground as the scrum was winding down) I would have to assume with all the pushing and shoving that if the refs wanted to they could have tossed most the players on the field at that time. I'm guessing it was the "have keep it even and toss players from both team" mentality.

The number of times that pocket was surrounding Flowers also caused me those kind of moments Gene, but the O-Line DID keep solid pocket around Flowers. Their D often was trying to get around, and the line kept them far enough from him to slide around and make plays.
If that continues, and improves, I stand very optimistic about this season.

The Heroes player then lifted his leg and intentionally stomped it into our players face, thus knocking off his helmet. It appeared to be in the chin/bottom of the face mask area. It was blatant and not able to be seen from all angles however, my view from the endzone was clear....

I got one word for you about #5 "Thug".
I hope that the league fines and suspends him. They should also make a rule about ejected players being able to come back out to the bench once they are ejected. Even if they aren't wearing the uniform anymore.
I have no problem with players getting emotional, but what he did was down right disgraceful to not only himself but also the team and the league. A blow like that could cripple someone or even kill them. They showed it several times on the big screen and I cringed every time.
What a class act he is. I hope that his momma never sees that footage.

What more could we expect from a Teddy keaton coached football team?
It wasnt the only violation either. According to AIFA Rules each teams jerseys, home & away, must have the players last name on them. The Heroes jerseys didnt and i have to assume this has been let go all season?

I tried to get on the Heroes site to see the guys name but kept getting an error. I was ticked myself and I apologize to any of the kids that may of heard the words coming out of my mouth at the time.
Once #5 came back out to the bench after his ejection he continued to talk trash. And during the team prayer after the game he was out on the field and started talking more trash. I saw several players holding him back.

And the Heroes fans wonder why Huntington is the most hated team in the league.......
