The Augusta Colts proudly announce the addition of 221 lb. Linebacker J.K. Sabb. While a student at Lucy Laney High School, Sabb was named the 2002 Georgia High School Class 3A Player of the Year. In addition, he was a two-time Georgia all-state and all-regional selection; recording 210 tackles and rushing for 1,800 yards as a senior, where he played QB, RB, and LB. After a brief stop at Georgia Military, (where he led his team in tackles as a freshman and sophomore, while twice earning the defensive MVP honors) Sabb was quickly signed by the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in 2005; where as a junior he was voted to the second team all-conference squad, while setting a school record for 5 tackles for a loss in a single game and ranking 3rd in the NCAA in total tackles for a loss. During his senior season, Sabb was named by ESPN's Pat Forbe as the 2006 SBC Defensive Player of the Year and was one of 65 players on the Butkus Award Watch List (for the Best NCAA Linebacker). Sabb ended his collegiate career ranked sixth all-time in tackles for loss with 27.5. and was invited to the Georgia Force Arena League training camp. However, Sabb opted to sign with Augusta in order to play at home while gaining some valuable indoor football experience under Coach Bubba Diggs.
