Lions Award Season Ticket Holder Date: 1/4/2008 12:04:03 PM Columbus, GA (Dec. 8, 2007) – The Columbus Lions have only been around for two years, but have already established a fan base far beyond their own imagination. A prime example of that imagination can be Ronnie Owens, the first person to buy season tickets to the Columbus Lions for the upcoming 2008 season. Traveling from Jonesboro, GA, Owens calls his trips to Columbus a chance to getaway from his world of work. The fast pace sport makes the hour and a half drive for every game more than worth it. On Saturday, the Lions presented Owens with his own customized authentic Lions jersey and a game ball from last season’s World Indoor Bowl championship game. Owens was also given the opportunity to meet with Head Coach Jason Gibson. Last season Owens had to be talked into going to home games by his brother. When asked why be first to purchase season tickets for the new season, Owens simply said, “I wanted the best seat and to get closer to the field” while laughing. Owens will get the first chance to watch the Lions this upcoming March when the have the home opener against the Pittsburgh Riverrats. When asked about his expectations for the upcoming 2008 season, Owens said, “I expect the Lions to go all the way.” www.columbuslions.net/ViewFullNewStory.aspx?ID=14

I was very flattered and honored to be the first season ticket holder this year, after speaking with Coach Gibson I am more convinced than ever the Lions future is bright indeed,as a side note I am taking my adult children and their spouses on a cruise this spring, thankfully it is during "away games",as much as I enjoyed the WIFL the AIFA is strong and ready for business.

Congrats on being first in line Ronnie! Good to see you back on the boards, and hopefully I'll bump into you at a game this season.
You guys should expect good things from your team this season. They have a strong ownership group, and the team is run very well on and off the field.
