baltimore goes against the Carolina Speed this Saturday, in what will be the Blackbirds first home game at 1st mariner arena. The arena has 11,000 fixed seats and can accommodate up to 14,000 with non-permanent seats. What will be the attendance at the first home game for the 0-3 Baltimore Blackbirds.
I perdict around 3,000 to 4,000.

i hope the region gets behind the team ...no matter the record or the scores of their games.....look deep into history and yes at all levels of pro sports...expansion teams sometimes start slow and take years to get better on the field, but their fans support them no matter what....that's what a fan is!!! not just when your local team is winning or is established...get behind them, make them a success, make them want to get better..sorry almost went off on a rant....anyway i wish Baltimore well and i want them to be here for the long haul

well, guessing attendance is futile unless we know how much marketing the team is doing. If they've done very little and trying to do it all through word of mouth and the fact that there's been a few articles, my guess would be 500-1,000 fans. If they've actually taken out advertising, gotten in the news, had sponsorship tie-ins for local businesses/corporations to promote them that would change everything.
But given that this team was started late and unable to play a full schedule, and how little their team (as a team) has come together to play well compared to other AIFA teams, my guess is marketing has been on the back-burner. So, my guess will be 900 fans.

Wow, seems some people are doomsday sayers. There was no official attendance figure given during the game. But the estimate was at about 4,500. Not too bad a t all for a team with minimal exposure. Now if only they could get in the win column.
