MudCats try for 4-0 2/24/2007 1:37:38 AM Daily Journal TUPELO - The Mississippi MudCats indoor pro football team shoots for a 4-0 start tonight as the Gulf Coast (Fla.) Raiders sail into BancorpSouth Arena. Kickoff in the American Indoor Football Association game is set for 7:30 p.m.
The MudCats have outscored their foes 157-97 in three games, while the Raiders lost 62-22 to Tallahassee in their opener last Saturday.
But the big number for the home team is 5,000 -the average crowd that the team has attracted in its first three games.
"It's been great to open the season with four home games and such great crowd support," said coach Brian Brents.
Gulf Coast, by contrast, must play all of its games on the road. The team hopes to have a home arena for the 2008 season.
The MudCats' next home game is March 17 against the Florence (S.C.) Phantoms.
