AIFA league owner John Morris visits Danville
01/04/07 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Danville Demolition
Danville, IL- The co-owner of the American Indoor Football Association, John Morris addressed the Danville media yesterday at an open house hosted by the Danville Demolition and touched on league issues including the new league name, league vision and league mission, ending with the league's commitment to the community.
"I'm excited about the AIFA and the 2007 season," said Morris. "I'm looking forward to showing Danville residents and business leaders in addition to each AIFA city that we are committed to excellence in all areas of business."
Morris is also partial owner of the AIFA's Montgomery Bears and is entering his first season as general manager of the team. Prior to joining the Bears, Morris served as general manager of the Gulf Coast Raiders Minor League Football Team of the Southern States Football League (SSFL) in Florida . Morris and Bears head coach, Michael Mink, captained the Raiders to a 9-1 regular season record in their 2006 inaugural season, clinching the National Conference Southern Division Championship and leading the league in points averaged per game and having the fewest points scored against them per game.
Morris brings an immense amount of business and organizational knowledge to the AIFA. In addition to overseeing day-to-day activities in the Bears organization, he is currently in his eighth year as Creator and President of JME Enterprises, a national advertising agency, based out of Baltimore, MD. Morris and his partners are responsible for break-through products such as Strike Force GPS Global Tracking and Final Finish Vehicle Protection Program. Morris has worked alongside many professional athletes including Baltimore Orioles Manager, Sam Perlozzo, and players Bruce Chen and David Newhan in promoting JME and its products.
Michael Mink, head coach/co-owner of the Montgomery Bears, joins Morris as co-owner in the new AIFA. Mink brings nearly two decades of football knowledge to the AIFA, serving as Head Coach of the Gulf Coast Raiders of the Southern States Football League (SSFL) in Florida, acting as the Regional Scouting Director for the Albany Conquest in the Arena II Football League and playing two seasons on the club team at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). In addition, Mink also played with the semi-pro St. Petersburg Sharks (FL), and played three years of varsity football at Robinson High School in Tampa, FL.
Prior to Mr. Morris' introduction, Demolition Coach BJ Luke introduced his son RJ as one of the newest names on the team's roster. RJ Luke played for Penn State University as a Fullback Tightend, the NFL Tennessee Titans 2003, the NFL Seattle Seahawks 2004-2005 and most recently, the AIL Austin Wranglers 2006
