Thanks for posting. I see a few names on here that was not previously posted as signings. Were any of these players on the roster not at the scrimmage a few weeks back?

A few more questions 2 kickers? And there are 29 players mentioned. They are allowed 30, right? Is there a surprise waiting? (i.e. a player not quite signed they are waiting to plug into a roster spot?)

We have always had two kickers. We only suit one up though. It's a smart move if you ask me because I've seen some teams come to the railyard with no backup and it really cost them.
As for the 30th man, I guess we'll find out eventually.

Most teams will carry two kickers....Usually one on the active and one on the inactive....Kicking 6-9 times a game plus kickoffs can wear on you......not to mention getting clobbered once or twice on a kickoff........Saw a guy get damn near knocked out last year In the NIFL...the team had to go for two the rest of the game....so it pays to have two kickers who can not only boot it, but take a beating too.....Most will usually have another skill player who can kick in an emergency, usually a backup QB or WR......
As for the roster limits....I believe its 25 on the "active" and 5 on the "inactive"....has to be posted by Wed. of the game week...Don't quote me on that...but Im pretty sure thats how it goes.....

That makes sense. And now that I think about it, I do remember 2 players practicing kicking in warm ups for games last year. (I also remember visiting teams that looked like it was a 3-4 string kicker going for them, so I see why you would want the roster to be there game day emergencies)

Since I just found the detailed rules of the game, it looks like the answer is 20 players are active for games (and 5 inactive). And no more than 25 can be on the bench (active & inactive)
I have also have a question on this list: (I also understand the Reading Eagle in no way a final say without flaws)
1) according to section Q number 4:
Could #56 Andre Young, actually be a LB? I was trying to see where he played at KU, and if it wasn't LB it was more of a Safety. Im guessing #10 won't be the actual number of DL Eddie Robinson (since he seems to be a late ad) #75 couldn't be in accordance to the rules and be a kicker
The oddest thing about the "no exceptions" list is no player can have a number in the 40's? (where does that leave #42 LB Will Corbin?)

I was told the required numbers rule has been changed. Eligibility is based on the position a player lines up at and not the number they wear.

Interesting, so we finally get more detailed rules, and it's outdated.
I really wished they had an effective date on that page. I would guess it was updated just after the rule changes were implemented.

I saw on the league's website that Ocasio is on the IR. How bad is he hurt? I hope for Reading's sake it's a minor injury.

I saw on the league's website that Ocasio is on the IR. How bad is he hurt? I hope for Reading's sake it's a minor injury. I spoke with him at the last tryouts a few weeks ago and he said he was ok. Just taking it easy. I wont get into what was wrong with him but we fans know he'll big a big contributor this season.
