Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that Defensive Back Ronnie “Stick” Montgomery has signed his 2008 Express player’s contract. Ronnie played his High School football at Corcoran High and was a four year starter at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Last year Ronnie was a starting DB for the Johnstown Riverhawks. Stick is 6’ 190lb DB with excellent speed and has that 6th DB sense of finding the ball. Ronnie is presently continuing his academics at Syracuse working towards a degree in Forensic Science. He has 2 daughters Ayshia and Jordyn. “I look forward to getting Ronnie in Reading. He’s a good kid, a hard worker and a smart football player and a proud father. He is certainly going to bring some depth and competition to our Defensive Backfield” said Nowotarski. “He had 10 picks last year with Johnstown and he had a great career in college at Mansfield including at the time a Conference record 100 yard kick return for a TD.” Added Nowotarski.
