Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that two Offensive Linemen have been signed for Express camp in February.
Adding to The Express O-Line is 6’5” 365lb center Adam “A-Train” Hoffman. Adam played his high school football at Thomas Johnson High in Maryland. He continued his college career at Shepard University. Adam brings two years of AF2 experience (Manchester Wolves). Adam lives in Frederick Maryland with his wife Heidi and 5 children. “This is the guy that we wanted here. Chris Thompson (our O-Coordinator) played football with Adam in the CIFL last season and we felt he was a great fit to our organization” said Nowotarski. Adam has also been in several NFL camps, NY Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. “His size, strength and his love of the game and especially his family values are just awesome” added Nowotarski. “He is such a great pick-up for us.”
The Express has also signed 6’3” 305lb Shawn “The Reaper” Williams. Shawn was a member of the Johnstown River Hawks last season, but he lives close by in the Philadelphia area, so along with Johnstown going dark this season and his geographical closeness things worked out to sign Shawn to an Express contract.
Shawn played his High School football at Germantown and his college ball at Slippery Rock. “Shawn contacted me about playing in Reading, I have some Johnstown film in the office, we took a look, we liked what we saw and I know Coach Kenny Miller will be able to work with Shawn” explained Nowotarski.
The offense line is falling into place and I am pleased with the direction it is going. It looks like we are going to be bigger and stronger than last year.
