Friday during lunch at The Pike Café, Reading Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski signed Former Albright Quarterback John Port. John is a 6’4” 220 lb QB with speed and mobility and a big arm. His high school ball was played in Philadelphia at Monsignor Bonner before coming to Albright where John became a 4 year starter and threw for over 12,000 yards and 110 touchdown passes earning him All-American status.
“I’m very glad to have John signed” said Nowotarski. “Signing now is going to give him plenty of time to get comfortable with Offensive Coordinator Chris Thompson’s offense as well as getting to know several of the receivers who live here in the Reading area.” Nowotarski added, ”John brings a big arm and an even bigger passion for the game of football.”
“I am very happy with the players we are signing as well as the entire direction of the organization is heading. I have several more exciting players to announce in the very near future, including a local player or two.”

This might answer our question as to whether or not Tom Stetzer comes back. Speaking with EJ Nemeth last season he verbally told me he'd like to come back but i havent seen anything official yet.

Only 30 spots on a roster. Bernie has to be running out of space soon. I have to check my stats, but I believe that's 11 announced so far. We'll have a full roster before you know it. Brian
