This is why the Express are one of the most respected organizations in this league. They don't take short cuts.

i'm just going to put this out there , you believe whatever you want....but i do honor contracts, from $ amounts to dates of being able to sign other players....i have lots of aifa guys that have called about coming to reading...i informed each one that i could or would discuss them coming to reading until aug. 16 which is one day after aifa contracts expire...now after that date i will discuss them coming here.. but thats just the way i am....believe it or not, but thats just my own level of integrity and i'm sure it has cost me players also And as far as players under contract within the AIFA, I would hope that you have to respect that. The league should have to approve all contracts, and if a guy is under contract to one AIFA team he should not be allowed to sign with another. Contracts from other leagues was what we were referring to Bernie... if you're honoring CIFL/UIF/WIFL contracts, you're a better man than I thought, and I have a lot of respect for you already...

thankyou and i specified the aifa , but i do the same with all lg.s....my first question to any player from any lg. is "are you under contract?" if the answer is yes, i let them know that if they are really interested in reading, call me when your contract date has expired and your free to talk, otherwise i won't discuss anything about coming here to play until their contract has ended..and as i said i'm sure i lost a few players due to that standard....and believe me i have guys all year long , during the season after the season calling, i welcome them here, but their contract with whatever affilation must be expired....answer to brandon simmons, he said he was not under contract, lv called us and said he was under contract until dec. i don't know if that is true or not , i never read a cifl contract, but for whatever reason he stayed there....in the aifa contract there is a date posted for when a player is free from his contract

I wanted to say that if a player wants to move on to another team in another league then he should be able to do that. It seems to me that players would want to come to Reading based upon their winning percentage. Lehigh Vally has taken some of the players from the express but Bernie seems to be reloading just as quickly. Hopefully these organizations can work with one another. One mans trash is another mans treasure. I am sure the player that left will be or has been replaced already.

Until there are more GMs like Bernie that take it upon themselves to honor other leagues' contracts on principle alone, competing leagues will always try to submarine each other any chance they can get in order to "screw over" the other guy.
Because of the different style of play in the CIFL, an average AIFA player may become a star over there. Conversely, a star AIFA player (especially an offensive one) could become a dud in the CIFL.

Bernie -- I want to thank you for all the input you provide. Whether it is here, of via e-mail. We appreciate having that extra insight.
