What are you guys worried about? I have a feeling the Express are going to do just fine. Aside from signing veteran talent, I am sure they will pick up some great talent through open tryouts. Your teams coaches and management seem to have a very good eye for that type of thing.

At this stage, Reading probably isn't going to get much from open-to-the-public open tryouts. The team will use its contacts generated both by its coaching staff/management and by its current players to get guys.
I'd still really like to see Reading and Lehigh Valley in the same league, but that's not going to happen in the near future.

How'd we lose Brandon already. he never even took a snap with us? Ditto on that question. Brian As it was explained to me he was still under contract in the CIFL and that didnt expire till around December of this year. For one reason or other he went to Lehigh.

None of these leagues honor any other league contracts, nor are they probably able to, no matter what's said in them.

And even if they did, if he played under a CIFL contract in 2007, it would have expired in August at the latest. I saw nothing in any team's contracts that would have allowed them to retain a player's rights after that unless they re-signed them to a contract for the 2008 season.
If teams are trying that kind of crap to keep their players from moving around to other CIFL teams, then the league brass needs to put a stop to it, it's unfair to the players. For a hundred bucks a game, they should be able to go wherever they want.
But like Exit said, no one honors each other's contracts, meaning from league to league. At this level, where 9 out of 10 players are interchangeable, it would be cost-prohibitive to fight one. And most of the players know it too...

i'm just going to put this out there , you believe whatever you want....but i do honor contracts, from $ amounts to dates of being able to sign other players....i have lots of aifa guys that have called about coming to reading...i informed each one that i could or would discuss them coming to reading until aug. 16 which is one day after aifa contracts expire...now after that date i will discuss them coming here.. but thats just the way i am....believe it or not, but thats just my own level of integrity and i'm sure it has cost me players also
